Immigrant entrepreneurial story
Founded in 2017, B4brand is the entrepreneurial adventure of Hermine Mbondo, a versatile Marketing Consultant who believed that there was more to her professional life than work, work, work.
Born in Cameroon and raised in France, Hermine Mbondo moved to Canada in 2016. It was here in Toronto that she was inspired to take her career trajectory to the next level. Building on a decade of successful international work in communications, trade marketing and branding, she was inspired to focus her marketing expertise to tell the stories of purpose-driven brands contributing to the greater good. So, she created B4brand to help purpose-driven brands find their unique voice in today’s noisy, hyper-connected digital world, and connect their narratives with their audiences across multiple channels.
In 2020, Hermine Mbondo was recognized for her work and the impact she is making as a recipient of Canada’s 100 Black Women to Watch Award.
Keeping the Tradition of African Storytelling Alive
Our founder’s journey began in “Little Africa” – also referred to as “all Africa in one country” – in a land located in the hinge of the continent, where West and Central Africa meet. Born in the Bassa tribe of Cameroon, Hermine Mbondo spent the first 8 years of her life listening to many amazing tales during her summer vacations in her village. At twilight, one of her aunts would gather all the children and start recounting tales before going to bed.
Those legends, myths, tales, riddles, songs, and proverbs left a lasting impression on her early childhood and inspired her to read more, write more, and somehow instilled in her a lifelong love for storytelling.

She is a huge foodie! She once travelled from Paris to New York City to taste Dominique Ansel’s cronut and ended up loving his Paris-New York.
Once upon a time, she worked in “the happiest place on Earth” in Orlando, Florida, also home to the world’s most famous mouse.
