We Live Diversity

We Embrace Multicultural Perspectives

We don’t just talk about diversity; we live it. Our team is a vibrant blend of cultures and backgrounds, making us uniquely positioned to be compassionate and skilled storytellers that understand you, your story, and your audience. We are a signatory of the 50-30 Challenge and actively work towards creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization.

Why? Because we don’t just hire for skills; we hire for life experiences. For us, diversity is about the individual experiences we, as humans, have and the different cultures we come from. We value the perspective each team member brings to our projects, which ensures that our content is inclusive and relatable.

We Bring
Our Bilingual Expertise

Our team is dedicated to creating all your campaigns, from concepts to stories to copywriting and beyond in your language, from start to finish. We know messages and stories get lost in translation, that’s why we don’t just translate the content we create. When it comes to creating content for francophone communities, we take a French-first design approach backed with our knowledge and experiences of Francophone cultures.

We Aspire to Inspire
a Counter-Narrative

Inspiring Women-Owned Businesses

As a certified Women Business Enterprise, we seek to help change the stereotypes surrounding what a founder is supposed to look like. By being a woman-owned business, we hope to inspire other women to believe in themselves and follow their entrepreneurial journey.

Empowering
Black-Owned
Businesses

Our industry is suffering from a lack of diversity and inclusion, which is reflected in the process of creating content and impacts how people consume it. Time and time again, we have witnessed countless examples of insensitive campaigns that met backlash from the public. When consumers don’t feel valued, this affects their decision to buy or not.

We bring a range of perspectives to the table, making it our responsibility to create content that resonates with our clients’ target audience. As a Black-owned branding and marketing agency, our strategies, designs, and campaigns are built with the customer’s lived experiences in mind. We make sure they feel included, seen, and heard. Our consumer-driven approach to content marketing helps increase brands’ reputation, build consumer trust, and improve our clients’ bottom line.

It all starts with our clients acknowledging they want to be inclusive in their content and allowing us to help them connect with their customers better.

Our Founder Story

Accordion Content

Born in the Bassa tribe of Cameroon, in “Little Africa” — where West and Central Africa meet, Hermine Mbondo spent many warm summer nights rounded up with the other children listening to the tales her aunts would tell. Storytelling has always played a significant role in African cultures. For thousands of years, history, stories, memories and traditions have been passed down orally from one generation to the next. So, it comes as no surprise that these lessons, shaped as exciting myths, engaging riddles, and sweet songs, instilled in Hermine her own love for storytelling at an early age.

Looking back over the years, from moving to France at eight years old, and then immigrating to Canada, Hermine realizes that her journey has come full circle as she lives the life she has always wanted. As a child, she wanted to be a writer. Then a reporter. Then a marketer. Hermine began building a decade of successful international work in communications, trade marketing and branding. It was eventually here in Toronto that she was inspired to focus her marketing expertise to tell the stories of purpose-driven brands contributing to the greater good. So, she created B4brand.

B4brand stands at the intersection of Hermine’s passion for brands, her storytelling heritage from the Bassa tribe of Cameroon, and her bilingualism in English and French. She is a passionate storyteller that creates real authentic brand stories from scratch; from personas, to values, to tone of voice and beyond.

Hermine began her entrepreneurial journey in 2017 to work with brands that are making a positive impact in the world, helping them find their unique voice and connect their narratives with their audiences across platforms. This is what Hermine always wanted to do, and it started rooted in her Cameroonian heritage.

In 2020, Hermine Mbondo was recognized for her work and the impact she is making as a recipient of Canada’s 100 Black Women to Watch Award.
